Our 12 Steps to Success

Our 12 Steps to Success

  1. Announce your system and carding at the start of each round before you bid
  2. If your opps do not announce, call the TD - DON’T BID

All systems are allowed that are legal in ACBL or WBF

If you are playing with a sub - establish what system and carding you will play when the sub first arrives

  3. Alert ALL artificial bids and explain them as to your partnership understanding – not merely the name of the convention
  4. Your opps have the right to ask for each bid to be explained

In keeping with good sportsmanship, “no partnership agreement” is not allowed. You must state what you understand the bid to mean

No Information Available is NEVER acceptable

  5. Accept all valid claims ~ don’t delay the game
  6. No Undos allowed
  7. If you do misbid, do not alert it or state to the table it is a misbid. Please notify the TD

  8. Psyche bids are allowed ~ you MUST message the TD when you do
  9. English is the ONLY language used in these tourneys
  10. Silence should be observed during the auction and play
  11. Dummy must remain silent. At NO time is he to tell partner to claim
  12. Zero tolerance for rude behavior
  13. Be polite to your partner, your opps and the TDs

  14. Disconnected players can be reseated ONLY if you get the agreement of the player who subbed for them
  15. TD’s will NOT ask the sub. It is up to your partner to do it. If sub refuses, you MUST accept the decision and abide by it. Our subs are way too valuable. Treat them well!

If your former partner is kibitzing - they cannot be returned until the board is complete

  16. If you register for a tourney you are expected to stay for the duration
  17. An attempt or request to leave mid-way displays a total lack of grace, sportsmanship and good manners

Quitters will be recorded and can be banned from further tourney play

Leaving after a bad result or a bad bid is inconsiderate of your partner and the other players

  18. Most importantly, remember this is a game and…

    ~HAVE FUN!!!~
