Tracy Barry (Barnet_99) Obituary

Tracy Marie (Suffredine) Barry, 60
With grieving hearts we regret to announce the sudden passing of Tracy Barry.  Tracy fell ill and passed peacefully in hospital during the early morning hours of Sunday May 2, 2010.  She is survived by her children Alison, Scott (Julia), and Ryan, her mother Myrtle Suffredine, and brother Blair Suffredine (Judi).
Tracy was born to Wray and Myrtle Suffredine in December 1949 and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science, double majoring in Biology and Sociology.  Along the way, Tracy met Tim Barry and they married in 1970.  Tracy became a proud mother in 1975 with the birth of her daughter.  Three years later, Tracy moved to Nelson and was “blessed” with the birth of her twin boys.  Tracy actively volunteered with several community organizations including the Emergency Social Services Committee, Red Cross, Crisis Line, and Air Cadets.  A passionate bridge player, she combined her love of the game with her interest in computers, co-founding the BridgeAddicts IBAA website.  Tracy also enjoyed gardening, travel, and sharing the company of others.
Tracy lived well and touched many with her selfless dedication to others.  Her culinary skill and quick (and sometimes dry) wit often sparked late gatherings with family and friends. She will always be remembered as a beautiful daughter, loving mother, dear sister, and devoted friend.  The outpouring of love and support from Tracy’s community has been a testament to the impressions she made throughout her life.
Tracy will be honoured and her life celebrated at 815 3rd Street, Saturday May 8 between 2 and 5pm. Her eulogy will be read shortly after 4 o’clock.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts in Tracy’s memory be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.ca) or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.bc.ca). Pictures, anecdotes, or condolences may also be forwarded to her family at  tracybarry.condolences@gmail.com.

Bridge Addicts Honors Tracy (Barnet_99)

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

It is sad news to report that our dear friend and co founder of Bridgeaddicts IBAA has passed away on Sunday May 2, 2010. As you know she was the heart and soul of this club, she spent many tireless hours working to see this become a truly great place to play.

She died of a heart attack after one day in the hospital, it was very sudden. We will miss her greatly.

I just can not put into words our sense of loss and shock.

Looking for more TDs

Sunday, January 28th, 2007

We are now running 4 tourneys a day.  This takes MANY MANY TD’s.  The only way to ensure that the free tourneys continue is to volunteer to help direct in them.  You do NOT need to be an expert or know all the systems.  If you are an intermediate player, you have the bridge skills to help direct.  We will gladly train you.  Our TD’s never work alone so you always have an experienced TD working with you.  If you could give us just one tourney a week it would ensure our free tourneys will continue.  Sadly if we don’t feel we have adequate staffing for a tourney, we will be forced to cancel it.

If any of you are willing to help, please contact ANY TD, leave BBO mail for IBAA or email us at excomm@bridgeaddicts.com and let us know.

The pay is crummy but the group of players are great and we have a WONDERFUL group of TD’s - YOU WILL HAVE FUN!!!
